Star gazer

We keep slipping further.
My body feels pain no longer.
A little liquid courage for the road.
We cross into the depth of the outer worlds of my mind.
You don’t need to bother.
I don’t need to breathe.
We will keep gliding further into the sea.
Tides rising only to fall over us as we gaze up at the stars.
They shine so bright; almost felt it this time.
I’m numb to the touch.
I can’t seem to see.
Blinded by the current that takes over us.
It runs its fingers through my hair, tugging softly.
You don’t need to bother.
My heart beats no longer.
The lights go out as our souls become one.
We’ve become the memories forever imprinted within history.

Northern Star

STars4I can’t do this any longer
—My heart beats outside my chest
Exposing its self for the world to see.
My lungs are collapsing with every forced breath and brings me to my knees.
This could be it—
This could be the end of me.
Gazing upon the starry sky
I’ve found you,
My bright northern star.
I’ve been told to follow you if I ever feel lost
And I need you now more than ever before.
Your guidance will walk me through the night and back into your waiting arms.
I find myself still staring at you like some kind of stranger waiting for the familiar signal that you remember.
My swiftly beating heart pumps its fluids through me as I seek the sign that everything will be alright.
The numbness takes control as I gaze upon my frail body from a far
Feet cemented to the ground as the fight inside me brews, seeping down to my very being with ember that no longer only ignite
The gentle extinguishing wind that is you.
Watching as I flutter into nothingness
I cease to exist.

Nevermore

Soul that bleeds, yet does not speak.
Sky that weaps, yet does not see.
Reoccuring questions that posess no answers.
Fortune-tellers’ hands pouring empty thoughts and emotions.
Civilians passing by strangers with angelic faces.
The faces of loved ones that never made it.
Heads spinning at the sound of the rolling skies.
Hail makes its presence on earth as god makes his discomfort known.
The lives of many forgotten with each passing moment.
He waits…
Nevermore.
Nevermore.
The world is silenced with the roar from the sky.
Millions of eyes stare up at the unknown.
They wait for the rapture from above to be thrown down to the soil below with hands clasped tightly upon their skulls.
Faces full of pain, they whisper,
“Nevermore. Nevermore.”
